Turbo Ring
Enabling Ring and Media Redundancy
Turbo Ring is a proprietary self-healing protocol that enables fast
fault recovery under 20 ms at a full load of 250 switches. Turbo
Ring supports three topology options—ring-coupling, dual-
ring, and dual homing—to increase network operability, reduce
redundant cabling and eliminate planning cost, all while ensuring
seamless availability for your industrial network applications.
• Fast fault recovery < 20 ms
• Flexible ring topology
• Lower total cost of ownership
Ring Coupling Topology
Instead of one big ring, a
ring couple helps separate
distributed devices into
smaller redundant rings with
no control lines but increased
flexibility and efficiency.
Turbo Chain
Build Complex Redundant Networks
Quickly and Easily
Turbo Chain is a highly flexible self-healing Ethernet technology
designed to optimize distributed and complex industrial
networks that require fast Ethernet recovery of under 20 ms.
This breakthrough technology can create multiple redundant
networks: simply define a head and tail switch to quickly and
easily add a redundant network segment.
• Fast fault recovery < 20 ms
• Unlimited redundant network expansions
• Live node expansion without network interruptions
• Tremendous savings on cabling costs
Dual Radio WLAN Solutions
Interference-Free Redundancy for
Industrial Mobility
Moxa uses dual radio technology that transmits concurrent
wireless signals on two distinct channels to ensure interference-
free communication within 802.11 standards. When combined
with Moxa’s wired Ethernet redundancy technology and dual
power inputs, Moxa's dual radio WLAN solutions ensure
optimized availability across the entire network.
• Dual-band technology supporting 2.4 and 5 GHz bands
• Concurrent dual-radio design enabling real wireless redundancy
• Connectivity with Zero Packet Loss
Optimized WLAN Availability and Communications
Flexible enough to be used as AP, bridge, or client nodes,
dual radio devices facilitate a variety of connectivity modes for
maximum mobility, availability, and cost efficiency.
Redundant Wireless Connection Mode
Turbo Roaming
Sub-50 ms Fast Secure Connectivity
Designed for real-time connectivity, Moxa's client-enabled Turbo
Roaming unifies AP channels while roaming to reduce handover
delay to under 100 ms. Turbo Roaming can become even faster
with the addition of a wireless controller, which performs pre-
authentication and accelerates roaming to under 50 ms.
Redundant Turbo Roaming for Optimized Availability
By combining the advantages of Turbo Roaming and dual radio
redundancy, Moxa's redundant roaming can perform dual-radio
roaming with fast stable handoffs. The unique combination of
technologies creates secure wireless links that excel in highly
mobile or latency-sensitive applications.
• Roaming latency < 50 ms
• Fast mobile security
• Redundant roaming for wireless stability
Network availability directly affects the bottom line, and needs to be a primary
requirement in any network design. Moxa offers wired and wireless Ethernet
redundancy and seamless roaming throughout its portfolio of managed Ethernet
switches and WLAN devices that are designed from the very start for high
availability. Thanks to thorough redundancy capabilities, Moxa's industrial Ethernet
solutions simplify and optimize network designs with superior availability, reliability,
flexibility, and also deliver large savings on deployment time and cost.

Dual Ring Topology
This topology employs two
rings to add reliability and
reduces cost by using a
single EDS switch for shared
connectivity. It is perfect for
difficult cabling applications.
Dual Homing Topology
This option reduces network
complexity by coupling two
separate rings with a single
EDS switch. Additionally,
it can help a PLC with
one Ethernet port extend
connectivity to another ring
or backbone networks.
AP-Client Connection Mode
This mode supports AP-client settings in two separate channels.
Operators don’t need to bother with wired switches and cables
to achieve reliable connectivity.
Bridge Mode
The adjacent master-slave
settings on two isolated
radio channels extends
interference-free transmission
with faster throughput.
