Future-Proof Railway Solutions
Catering to demanding rail transport applications in need of high capacity,
safety, and reliability, Moxa has upgraded the ToughNet series of industrial
Ethernet switches with new models that include fiber optic, layer 3 routing,
and 24-port high density M12 switches. ToughNet switches provide copper,
fiber, and PoE ports transmitting at 10/100/1000 Mbps speed within a truly
robust housing that is designed to withstand the harsh operating conditions
of demanding rolling stock applications, such as vibration, surge, EMI, and
extreme temperatures.
TN-5510-2GLSX
On-train Fiber Optic Backbone
The TN-5510-2GLSX provides two
Gigabit fiber optic links that support
sub 50 ms Ethernet redundancy and
delivers EMI-immune communications
for railway control and management.
The fiber optic backbone extends
Gigabit connectivity up to 2 km to
deliver real-time data, voice, and video
transmissions across train cars. Two
Q-ODC push-pull connectors are
used to guarantee simple and secure
fiber optic connectivity against harsh
environments.

TN-5816/5818
Layer 3 Capability for Optimized
The TN-5816/5818 series offers Layer
3 switching capability to optimize
traffic flow control and performance
for large scale on-train applications.
The two Layer 3 TN switches facilitate
flexible VLAN deployment and high
volume data aggregation with 16-
port fast Ethernet M12 and up to two
Gigabit ports.

Complete Onboard CCTV
Moxa's onboard CCTV solutions combine EN 50155
compliant Ethernet technologies and full IP surveillance
functionality. The portfolio includes rugged IP cameras,
NVR computing platforms, and wired or wireless Ethernet
devices. Moxa’s IP cameras capture full motion video
continuously in high definition at 25 fps, while SafeGuard™
data recording technology ensures that this video data
is recorded safely on NVR computing platforms and the
gigabit Ethernet backbone over real-time wireless train-to-
ground surveillance networks. All of these technologies work
together in Moxa’s integrated, innovative solution for railway
IP video applications.
Increase System Availability with Moxa FLI Industrial Auto-Configuration Technology
EN 50155 Reliability

• Sub 20 ms Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain
redundancy
• Anti vibration and high EMI/surge
protection
• -40 to 75˚C operating temperature range
• Dual power with wide 24 to 110 VDC input
range
Key Technologies
• A versatile selection of EN 50155 compliant IP cameras,
NVR platforms, Ethernet switches, and wireless APs
• DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), BLC (Backlight Control or
Black Level Control), and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range)
ensure clear pictures in any lighting condition.
• CBR Pro™ technology stabilizes the bit rate of video
streams even in low-bandwidth environments.
• Fiber optic links for EMI-immune railway operations
• Layer 3 switching for efficient VLAN routing
• Gigabit bandwidth for converged data, voice, and video
streaming
• PoE devices deliver 24/48/110 VDC power
• Turbo Ring and bypass relay for high network availability
• Dual radio for redundant wireless connections
FLI Technology increases system availability by automating
device and network configuration. It centralizes all of the
network’s configuration information on a single server, which
is also the DHCP server. Every time a device is attached
to the network, it will contact the DHCP sever to obtain its
appropriate IP address, and then use TFTP to download a
device configuration text file to learn its own configuration
settings. This automated process means that new or
replacement network devices do not need to be manually
configured to work with the pre-existing system settings of
the network.
Flexible
• Manage all Ethernet devices in one file
• Use open standards for end devices
Location-Aware
• IP determined by device location on Ethernet topology
Intelligent
• Redundant server
• Server locking
• On-the-fly reconfiguration
